Having been divorced recently from a 63 year old husband who have chosen a woman 23 years younger than him, I cannot help but wonder why many ageing men would want much younger women. They will not be able to stop ageing, they will go frail soon and why take the huge responsibility of having to continue working for a younger family. This is a sure formula for early death.
It's a delightful fantasy for a 63 year old to make love to a young woman, but what would we talk about afterwards? The generation gap is just as real now that I'm on the other side of it. I don't mind saggy breasts and butts if you don't mind a scrotum that hangs to my knees (I may exaggerate slightly) and arms that bruise if you look at them harshly (see previous parenthetical). I don't sleep in tents any more, prefer my pillow top California king bed and my own pillow, prefer indoor plumbing, etc. I did all that when I was young. Now I am much more hedonistic, like my comforts. Young women are going to want skiing or something else I don't do any more. They are not going to enjoy jigsaw puzzles, table games, gardening, etc., things that most of us seniors enjoy.
A younger woman could be an absolute risk because, about 6 months ago, I met a man of interest who lied to say he wasn't married, nor living with anyone; but, soon enough, I learned he was married with a 16-year old daughter at home (meaning, a 68-year man, having a kid that age, spelled marriage to a younger woman). Anywho, my eldest grandchild is 16, so, what was he thinking?
Shortly after that, I dumped him and changed my phone number because it was the right thing to do. Besides, as a successful business man who had been taken for a ride, his lonliness was not my problem. He should have married someone around his own age.
