Idea for a date would be just about anything from a barbecue in the backyard to bistro on the street café a quick drink and oyster bar a festival with German Oktoberfest food, a brunch on the veranda or just a stroll in the park!
I would even enjoy a ride in the country to see the beautiful flowers blooming ending up in a small town listening to great band I love all kinds of music

One of the best ways to get aquanted is do a little local road trip, just you and your new friend. Provides a one on one opportunity to casually just talk without interruption.
I think it's a good idea to start with a light hearted conversation shared over a delious meal and something fresh to drink then take a nice slow walk on the beach afterward and let's see whether we're compatible and where it goes

How about a nice relaxing late morning brunch near the water. And then we could walk on the beach or just sit down on a blanket, and just get to know each other. I know first dates are often awkward. I would suggest a second one to get to feel a little less pressure.
62, Woman | Anywhere by the Beach
A nice walk on the beach, a picnic; sightseeing, ferry boat ride, live music, brunch, museums.
Relaxed brunch overlooking the beach.
Meeting early in the day for coffee and a good breakfast and talking for a bit.
53, Man | outside seating, restaurant
light after noon meal with coffe/tea to determine if/when dinner and cocktail would follow.
80, Man | anyplace convenient
Simple brunch in a nice QUIET restaurant (not a coffee house) so we can have a nice conversation.
We'll meet at a campground with all the fix'ns for a steak and egg brunch with blueberry muffins and maybe a bottle of vino. We'll cook in a rustic setting, taking in all the sounds of nature, take a short hike, then settle into our camp chairs to pick each other's brains (in a fun way),
Coffee and conversation is a great start.
63, Woman | Cafe with outdoor seating and scenic view
But any other opportunity to start getting to know you in the daylight would be fabulous!
First meeting should be in a nice place for dinning, where conversation can take place. Breaking the ice so that a second 1st date can begin.
