Let's see if I can bring a smile to those in cyberspace.  The topic...dogs and cats and the superiority of cats.  First I adore dogs...own two - The Great Dog Finny and JoJo.  With that said I have to explain my contention that cats are superior.
First, cats are very clean. They like to be tidy and clean and well presented in all their furry finery.  Dogs on the other hand are sublimely happy with their presentation after a good roll in some decaying gross detritus they have discovered on the ground.
Next, cats are well mannered and disciplined.  They can be left with food and water and a clean litter box for a few days and be purrfectly content to eat only when hungry and cover their toilet after each use.  Dogs on the other hand "wolf" down their chow and anyone elses that is within their reach.  Plus eye beg and drool when their master is trying to enjoy their own meal in a civilized manner.  They will eat every morsel, gagging while inhaling it and have nothing left for later or the next day...therefore requiring a dogsitter in the absence of their owners and added expense. Additionally, they will deposit large steaming piles and huge puddles if not attended to every few hours...sometimes out of spite for being left alone!
Now to the most important details of a cat's superiority...there is not a cat alive that regards it's litter box as a candy dish...nor other deposited piles in the grass as a midday snack upon which to munch and then gleefully lick their owners face.
And let us not forget the simple mindedness of a dog compared to a cat.  Example being, you leave the house to run to the store for milk.  Upon your return your dog has apoplexy at seeing you, even though you have been gone for fifteen minutes!  Some of you will say isnt that wonderful, well I find it moronic!  A cat will also miss you, however upon your return he will slowly make an entrance to look at you, maybe even rub around your legs purring to show his affection...but never lowern himself to whining and circle running, and crying and jumping...a cat is too dignified and not sorrowfullly needly.
I could go on but you get my gist...but I had better make a caveat here lest I receive hate mail and death threats...I write this in pure folly...just a joyful poking fun...I adore The Great Dog Finny and his nitwit friend JoJo.  They bring joy into my life and make me feel important.  But cats are the great equalizer and fine companions whom I love so dearly also.
Have a nice Sunday and laugh!
