Well, this is my second attempt at a blog entry. Don't know what happened to the first, nor does the website. I'm pretty patient these days. "Waiting" in New Orleans is the norm, as is confusion. Thank goodness I have some escape weekends in the near future. This post hurricane lifestyle is becoming weary. I did take advantage of a diversion last weekend. One of my old friends invited me to Cajun country after one of my work presentations. Dressed for success, I joined my friend on his run to the sugarmill. I wasn't warned about climbing up and down ladders at the mill, as the 18 wheeler was tilted 70 degrees for dumping the cane. Imagine the conversation about the city girl in her "J-Lo" glasses and dress boots, climbing in and out of the rig. I think I qualified as a safety hazard. This will be a memory hopefully just a funny in 2o years as it is today. I truly needed a good laugh and a new adventure. I did have a wonderful giggle down to the bottom of my soul!

Hardest part about hosting is cleaning up. Before and after.

Happy New Year to all. Posts and messages on the Board have slowed to a snail's pace. I check every day to see if anyone had anything new to say. Thank goodness for Don. He comments on new entries. Don, you must be a good host at a Party. It seems as though you welcome all . Come on guys and gals, let's breathe some life into this place. I have about 30 days left in my membership. Don't know if I'll reinvest. Donna

Tonight was a marvelous party in New Orleans' Art District. Although chillier than usual for this time of the year, hundreds of people strolled through the galleries. Of course there was food and drink, all activities culminating at the Contemporary Arts Center, dancing to the lively tunes of the Rebirth Jazz Band. Oh how wonderful it was to see life in New Orleans! I found my smile and the rhythm in my hips once again. It was a rebirth! Donna

I wonder about this blog thing. The message board and forum seem to have more action. Blogging is kind of like being at a party, telling a story and having it drop in the middle of the floor with no reaction. Folks are curious, read entries and then don't respond. What's that about? Donna <<<<

I've been busy for a spell. Sorry. Now where is that story you dropped in the middle of the floor? We need to clean up after ourselves.

Aaaah! How much of a simile it would be in 1941. All the fireworks didnt't seem real after an evening of dancing. But the world changed. Or, has it? Happy Pearl Harbor Day.
